St. Albert’s water is safe to drink!
The City of St. Albert is aware of the recent media reports surrounding the levels of lead in Canadian drinking water. These reports have led to questions about the safety of drinking water in communities across the country.
The City of St. Albert regularly tests water within our reservoirs and at flushing locations. Residents should know there is no lead concentration measured within the St. Albert public water system.
The distributed water throughout our systems meets or exceeds the Health Canada guidelines and is safe to drink.
The Utilities & Environment Department at Public Works manages our potable water distribution, wastewater collection, and stormwater management systems throughout the City of St. Albert. They also provide service to residents for waste and diversion programs, such as curbside waste collection and drop-off locations.
