Playground Lifecycle Program
The City of St. Albert has a Playground Lifecycle Renewal Program, which administers the planned replacement of City Playgrounds that have reached or are nearing the end of their asset lifecycle.
There are currently 59 City-owned playgrounds across St. Albert, which are included in this program. Replacement of City Playgrounds are planned holistically in conjunction with neighbourhood demographics, equitable neighbourhood distribution, annual site assessments and the aid of a playground assessment tool that tracks and monitors various asset lifecycle elements.
Collectively, this information is tracked and reviewed annually to establish a suggested rank order prioritization schedule, which is then used to help determine the final list of approved playground replacement projects for the upcoming year.
In 2019, the following City playgrounds will be replaced:
51 Flagstone Crescent. Closed July 2-August 15. Please use the closest playgrounds at Forest Park and Poplar Park during construction.
