City Advances Sustainability Initiatives

NEW DIRECTOR ROLE.

The City is taking positive steps to advance Council’s Strategic Plan and the Corporate Business Plan to improve the sustainability of St. Albert programs and services.

Beginning July 15, 2019, Kate Polkovsky will be moving to a new four-month term assignment as Director, Sustainability Initiatives, reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer. Kate’s role will be to advance initiatives to realize new revenue opportunities and to reduce servicing costs through the utilization of innovative technology. The position is expected to provide the relevant background and information to inform Council and Administration decision-making over the next few months.

Jay Mason, currently the Manager of Capital Projects, Engineering Services, will temporarily backfill Kate’s duties as Director, Utilities and Environment.

Both secondments will last for a minimum of four months with the possibility of an extension.
